Mehndi Moko began as a cultural exchange between Maori and Hindu people in Rotorua, Aotearoa (New Zealand). Gina Motutara Wright has combined traditional and contemporary aspects of Maori art and culture to the application of Henna to the skin.
The 27 pages of Mehndi Moko feature tribal designs ranging from simple to complex, masculine to feminine. All designs are titled in Maori with English translation, and an explanation of the significance of each design is included.
